MISSION

• To give Society part of our time, love and effort with the absolute conviction that every person deserves to live better.
• Our action is aimed at benefiting the low-income population of any community and groups made vulnerable by age, sex or disability, who are living on the street, and families of people deprived of their liberty, by attending to their basic food needs (Article 4 of our constitutive act).

PURPOSE

• To gather, through donations, as much food as possible in support of the beneficiaries.

QUANTITATIVE FIGURES

• 5,000 low-income families helped.
• A team of 50 volunteers trained and committed to this work, which will translate into benefit for our society and future generations.
• 16 vehicles in optimal condition for collection and distribution in Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

QUALITATIVE FIGURES

• Improvement in people's nutrition and quality of life.
• Reduction of hunger and malnutrition.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• A facility for the Food Bank in Cuautepec, Barrio Bajo, State of Mexico.
• A free dining hall where we serve an average of 50 diners in need daily, from 1:00 p.m., at the aforementioned address.
• Assistance to 1,500 people in extreme poverty according to the latest registry (June 2013).
• The support of Fundación Walmart and Fundación Chedraui, which make these achievements possible, with the permits previously authorized and signed by each representative as applicable.

EXPECTED RESULTS

• Temporary food assistance to the low-income relatives of people deprived of their liberty involved in the Social Rehabilitation and Reintegration Project.
• Temporary assistance to families in poverty and extreme poverty.

• 60% in extreme poverty.
• 40% in poverty.

ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES

• Collection of donations at the stores.
• Storage at the facility.
• Organization, selection and classification of the food to be distributed daily.
• Assembly of food pantries for the families of people deprived of their liberty.
• Preparation of the meals for the dining hall.

ANNUAL BUDGET

Total budget amount: $1,188,000 pesos

At Fundación Emmanuel I.A.P., 95% of the work is done by committed volunteers who serve of their own free will and decision, for the cause of fighting and preventing the family breakdown, crime, prostitution, addictions and reoffending that result from a person's imprisonment.

Currently, across the country, there are 720 volunteers, of whom, in the Federal District and Metropolitan Area, 163 enter the detention centers and 181 support the work with the families of people deprived of their liberty.

• Teaching Human-Relations Courses
• Giving motivational lectures
• Spreading the Foundation's Programs and Projects

• Providing free medical care (dentist, ophthalmologist, optometrist)
• Providing free legal advice and guidance (lawyers and law students)
• Donating clothing, footwear and personal-hygiene items
• Helping to bring in bread, fruit, vegetables and donations
• Marketing the products and crafts they make
• Presenting plays and/or musical concerts
• Organizing mini sports tournaments or bringing in a team
• Providing financial support to the internal servers
• Sponsoring an inmate with tools and raw materials so they can work on their own

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A VOLUNTEER INSIDE

• Have a fervent desire to serve the people deprived of their liberty
• Have no criminal record
• Be of legal age
• Take the Induction Course: 4 hours on site and 20 hours of self-study
• Have 4 or more free hours at least 1 day a week
• Choose one of the areas of participation listed above
